Keep, Clip, Cut (Offense)

With the season over. Let's take a minute to go through who I would keep (resign/not move on), clip (restructure), or cut off this season's roster

For starters, I'm bringing back anyone on the practice squad. It's camp depth and costs next to nothing to keep around, so they're all kept, and they've all been signed to future contracts anyway.

Quarterbacks
Jordan Love: Keep
Love is a keep. The only question is how big is his new deal. Sportrac projects it four years 180 million. I think it will be closer to 200, maybe 190 or 195, but he's a keep.
Sean Clifford: Keep, but...
Clifford is also a keep. He looks like a good backup quarterback; having said that, with how deep this QB class, I would take a Day 3 flyer if a name falls through the cracks. Give Clifford the competition to continue his development. Still, also, you want to make sure you're doing due diligence and having that Quaterback insurance policy 66 different Quarterbacks started a game this year, and only eight started all 17 games, obviously; some would've started all 17 but didn't because they weren't playing for anything in Week 18, however right now the NFL is a 2 QB league more than it has ever been.

Running backs
Aaron Jones: Clip
I love Aaron Jones, and obviously, he was a massive part of our playoff run this year. However, he will be 30 next season and spent much time on the injury report this season. I would try and find a reality where Jones plays next season but on a team-friendly deal
AJ Dillon: Cut
This is a tough one. Despite a slow start to the season, Dillon was running hard in November and December before getting injured again. He's shown flashes, but Green Bay needs to clear room for their next running back this off-season. The RB2 role makes the most sense, and I just haven't seen enough from Dillon to justify giving him a 2nd contract
Emmanuel Wilson: Keep
No one will confuse Wilson for an all-pro back, but we've seen flashes from him, and I think he's a quality depth piece to have around.
Patrick Taylor: Keep
Taylor is an excellent pass blocker and adds value to special teams. He's not a sexy player, but worth keeping him around for the depth.

Wide Receivers/Tight Ends
With all guys still on Rookie deals and not in contract years this off-season, they're all keepers

Offensive Line
David Bakhtiari: Clip, but...
I'm leaving the Bahk situation open. First and foremost, you're not cutting an All-Pro left tackle. That's not good business, but with his injury history, you can't bring him back on his current price tag. There's also a reality when David Bahktiari retires. This is a restructure, but Bahktiaris's knee is what decides the route we go
Elgton Jenkins: Keep
This isn't earth-shattering news; Elgton Jenkins is coming back
Josh Myers: Keep, but...
Myers is still on his rookie deal, so I'm giving him ample opportunity to come into camp and improve; however, let's not pretend the center wasn't an issue this year. I would love a veteran center to go in and compete for the job, and if he doesn't beat out Myers, it doesn't hurt you too badly. He's still a valuable depth piece, giving you a veteran presence; either way, Myers's job is on the line in camp
Jon Runyan Jr.: Keep, but...
While I value right guard the lowest of the five online spots, I haven't seen the year-to-year improvement from JRJ to give him a long-term deal. I'll bring him back, but it's a one-year vet minimum prove it deal, and much like Myers, I'm bringing in a veteran to push him
Zach Tom: Keep
Tom may be playing at left tackle or center next year, but if he's not, he's one of the best young tackles in the league. He's a keep
Rasheed Walker: Keep
Potentially, the incumbent left tackle depends on Bahktiari's situation. I'd like to see us draft another left tackle to compete with him because, again, it's about due diligence at a critical position, but I'm bringing Walker back
Yosh Nijman: Cut
Easy cut, even with the up-and-down play from JRJ and Myers, Yosh still couldn't crack the starting five. Solid player but very replaceable
Royce Newman: Cut
The most easy cut on the roster because I thought he was already cut
Sean Rhyan: Keep
Though he has yet to put a ton of production on tape, the beat and the team remain high on Rhyan, so I'm keeping him around and letting him compete at RG and C, especially if you cannot secure a veteran at those two spots.
Caleb Jones: Keep
Again, a young offensive lineman, keep him around and see how he develops

Special Teams
Anders Carlson: Keep, but...
All the drama aside, I would hate to cut a guy over one season, and then he turns into a very reliable kicker, much like his older brother. I'm definitely bringing competition in during camp, and his job is far from safe, but I'm not cutting him now.
Daniel Whelan: Keep
Whelan was solid; there is no reason to move off him; we've spent too many years dealing with subpar punting to move off Whelan after this season.
Matt Ozrech: Keep
There weren't many times I saw a noticeably bad snap, so I'm keeping him as well. Hopefully, the continuity works in Anders favor
